Training & Services
Dr. O’Keefe offers over twenty years of experience in in child and family therapy with experience in a range of therapeutic settings, psychiatric residential treatment settings, therapeutic boarding schools and wilderness programs, and private practice. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision from The College of William and Mary. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and is a Registered Play Therapist. Dr. O’Keefe is also a contributing professor for the Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling Program with the School of Counseling at Walden University.
 
Dr. O'Keefe's counseling approach helps young adults dealing with personal and professional stress, performance anxiety, school or workplace pressure, unresolved grief and loss, self-esteem, or just feeling overwhelmed about life's challenges. She provides counseling for kids and teens dealing with daily pressures, feeling overwhelmed, or struggling with unresolved family issues or grief and loss. She also provides therapy for couples working through relationship challenges, fertility challenges with an emphasis on women’s health, and grief and loss through an empowering and restorative healing process. Her particular approach aims to foster personal insight, congruence, and self-awareness through compassion, understanding, and implementation of skilled and creative interventions, including meditation and mindfulness practice, therapeutic play, and sandtray therapy.
